We get great results for our clients by working harder and being more determined than our competitors. Our legal team is not afraid to go to court when the insurance company refuses to settle for a sum that fully pays our clients and their families for all of their injuries and losses. This sets us apart from many other personal injury lawyers.

ELMIRON is a prescription drug used to treat interstitial cystititis (IC), a long-term bladder condition that makes you have to go to the bathroom a lot and hurts. Elmiron works to ease IC symptoms, but it has also been linked to a very bad side effect known as pigmentary MACULOPATHY.
The macula, which is in the middle of the retina, is affected by pigmentary maculopathy. Damage to the macula can lead to vision loss because it is in charge of clear center vision.
In the past few years, there has been more and more proof linking elmiron to pigmentary maculopathy. It was in 2023 that the FDA warned Elmiron users about the possible risk of pigmentary maculopathy.
There is a chance that you can sue the company that made Elmiron if you took it and then got pigmentary maculopathy. There are a number of skilled Elmiron lawyers who can help you with your case.
WHAT DO PIGMENTARY MACULOPATHY SIGNS LOOK LIKE?
Depending on how bad the pigmentary maculopathy is, the signs can be different. However, here are some usual signs:
- Blurry eyes in the middle
- Having trouble reading
- Having trouble seeing in dim light
- Having trouble seeing colors
HOW DO YOU DETECT PIGMENTARY MACULOPATHY?
An in-depth eye exam that includes both a dilated eye exam and an optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan can find pigmentary maculopathy. An OCT scan is a type of imaging test that can make very clear pictures of the eye.
WILL I BE ABLE TO SUE IF I HAVE PIGMENTARY MACULOPATHY AND USE ELMIRON?
You might be able to sue if you use Elmiron and have pigmentary maculopathy. You need to be able to show that in order to have a case.
- And you used Elmiron.
- The Elmiron wasn’t working right.

If you can prove these elements, you may be eligible to recover damages for your medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other losses.
What kinds of damages can I get in an Elmiron case?
In an Elmiron lawsuit, you may be eligible to recover the following types of damages:

- Other losses: You may be able to get money for other losses you’ve had, like the cost of getting to and from medical visits or hiring a helper.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST MEETING WITH AN ELMIRON LAWYER?
During your initial consultation with an Elmiron lawyer, the lawyer will likely ask you the following questions:
- How long did Elmiron last?
- In what ways do you feel?
- Have you talked to a doctor about your signs?
- Do you have any medical papers that show that you took Elmiron and that you have pigmentary maculopathy?
Along with that, the lawyer will look over your medical papers and any other relevant proof. After looking over your case, the lawyer can tell you what your legal options are.
